It’s been a very exciting year for the lodge. It has been a full house with beautiful flowers a GREAT new sign at the top of the road. Please come up and see it!

Our Family day was a great success again this year! Thank you to all who came.Thank you also for the generous donation of the two bicycles that were raffled off and won by Scott Warrington and Keegan Simms.

Sunday August 28th 2011 we will be doing a breakfast at $5.00 a person all you can eat – NO SHARING.

From 8.m. to 10 a.m. come on over /up/ down or whatever and join us for the feast.

Please remember you have to be a member to use the beach or range and that we do now have an archery site, so come on up and join us.

NO SMOKING ON THE BEACH or LODGE area.

Please do not park in front of the porta pottys or in handicap spaces.

The meal this month is pot luck so whip up a dish and join us at 6:30 on August 18, and a meeting to follow.

A huge thank you to all who have helped in bringing this organization back together.

Best of luck to all our little and big ones going to go back to school.

Just a reminder that you must be a member to use the beach, range or the archery.

The regular meeting will be July 21, 2011 starting at 6.30 for spaghetti, salad, bread and deserts for $5.00 each with the regular monthly meeting to follow. COME and JOIN US.

COME ONE COME ALL and join us for Family fun day July 23, 2011 starting with breakfast at 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. for all you can eat for $5.00 (NO SHARING).A fun filled day of games and prizes for the kids, free hot dogs and hamburgers for lunch. A donation jar will be out. Also you can buy raffle tickets to win a bike. We will have 2, 1 for boy and 1 for girl.

Range News – the Association has a new caretaker(s) and they will be showing up at the range when they hear gunfire to make sure everyone there has a membership or guests are escorted by a current member. So be prepared to show your membership card, they will also have a current membership list to double check your status. Also the shooting of cinder blocks from the top of the 25 yd. line will cease, in essence you are shooting a rock and your bullets are deflecting off into the air and creating a hazard!! You risk loss of your range privileges if caught doing so.

Archery is open and would love to have you come and check us out.

We are going to have hats with the lodge logo on them, be sure to get yours before they are gone.

A huge thank you to Bernie and Fishers and our ever faithful Larry for the beautiful sign at the entrance to the lodge. It’s beautiful, Come and check it out.

We still have a few daily sites open for $20.00 a night, grab them while they last.

The ladies get a big thank you for all the beautiful flowers they have done. The grounds look great!

Our man Larry and his crew of followers are hard at work keeping the roads looking great and doing the carpentering.

And our great cooks, oh yes food is always good, come and taste for your self.

Please remember if your little one dig holes in the sand to smooth them back out ,/fill them in for safety reasons

We are very sorry to announce that Ivan Rawley, will not be able to do the caretaker job due to illness, thank you for trying Ivan.

Swimming lessons will again be held for Union residents and Lodge members.

This year’s scholarship was awarded to Jesse Mathews of Lincolnville and Alician Kenze of Hope; both are going into the warden service.

The regular meeting for June is the 16th at 6.30, its pot luck bring your favorite dish to share, and enjoy the meeting after.

Range is looking great.

June is Father’s Day month any new member will get the dues rate for $50.00 June only

At this time we have a committee working on the by-laws to update them, and also a committee going over the constitution.

PLEASE remember when using the beach NO DOGS on beach or grass area and No smoking either ,most of all clean up after yourself and your children, fill in the holes and clean up your garbage, do not put diapers in the porta potty’s put them in the trash can or take them home.

MOST OF ALL – YOU have to be a member to use the beach, each member is allowed four guests but is responsible for them.

The boat ramp is public, DO NOT Park in the handicap spaces unless you have a permit to do so, no swimming in that area.

If you are taking your dog for a walk and he/she does its business CLEAN IT UP.

If it’s beneath your dignity to stop and scoop, then in reality you shouldn’t have a pooch.

If your child is interested in going to camp Bryant pond , please have him or her write an essay as to why they want to go and get it mailed to the lodge .

Membership Dues have to be paid by May 1,2011 – if not you will be charged an extra $5.00.

Camp site fees also must be paid by May 1,2011 or you forfiet your site.

PLEASE, be sure where you are shooting when at the range, our dumpster and our trees have been shot. STOP!

This will be the last news letter for the year, so we all want to wish each and every one of you happy and safe HOLIDAYS.

The November regular meeting will be held at KNO-WAL-LIN on Pleasant Street in Rockland at 6.30 with coffee and goodies for your sweet tooth please cook up a batch of your favorite goodie and bring it to share at our last meeting for 2010.

There will be no meetings at all in December.

Larry will be working on the roof again real soon, with hopes of getting it done before SNOW! Volunteers are welcome contact Larry Oakes. And if any one has any extra cents or $ a donation to the roof fund would be greatly appreciated.

A thank you also to Peggy Bade for a place to have our January, February, March and April meetings. Which will be held at the New Credit Union on the Thomaston /Rockland line at 6.30 the first Wednesday for directors and third Thursday for regular meeting of each month?

$100.00 dollar deposit has been voted in for the lodge rental fee payable in advance.

We have been asked to let everyone know that there will be a benefit dinner for John McKenzie, (who has cancer) November 28th, 2010 at the Washington Grange for all who can join him and his family.

Last but not least ALL of the board members want to wish each and everyone a HAPPY THANKSGIVING, A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A GREAT NEW YEAR!

With great regret the leaves are falling, it means that camping season is coming to an end.

October 31, 2010 is the last day, and then the water and power are turned off. So if you are a camper and have things to be cleaned up or tied down now is the time to do it.

October 21, 2010 Thursday is the last dinner of the season for the regular meeting, it will be baked beans, hot dogs, cole slaw yeast rolls, rice pudding and its all for only $5.00 each WOW! What a deal. Come join us.

The winter meetings directors and regular will be held at the Mid Coast Federal Credit Union on Route 1 Thomaston, Rockland line at the same time 6.30, no dinners for the winter just coffee ,tea and sweets,(as we all need the sugar for energy to shovel).

On Sunday October 24, 2010 from 1 to 4 there will be a Halloween party for children at the lodge, please bring a snack to share and your own towel for apple bobbing. Hope to see you there.

If anyone has any extra $ and or cents to share or spare please send a donation to the roof fund. So far we have paid for ½ of the loan with donations many thanks to each and every one that has helped in anyway.

Hope everyone made it through the latest heat wave ok. If you could melt fat off, I’d be so skinny! Didn’t work though, oh well!

Everything at the lodge is going well. The campground is still getting spruced up.

A big thank you to our new Caretaker Toni Carpenter, her son, Larry, Bernie, and anyone else I have forgotten for a great clean up of junk metals and such behind campers and on camp sites.

We got a nice Thank-you letter from Brian Wright (the young man we sent to camp). We are going to invite him to speak at our next regular meeting on September 16, 2010.

There will be a member and guest kids Halloween Party on October 24, 2010 from 1-4. Please bring a snack to share and have a great time with the kids!

All camp rules have been updated and are posted on the website. Please read them as they will be enforced.
As of October 1st 2010, you must pay $100.00 for you camper storage fee and as of November 1st 2010, you must pay $100.00 to keep your spot for next year. We have nine waiting to come in so if you don’t want to lose your site make sure you pay on time!

For the new season beginning 2011 dogs will be charged at $25.00 per season per dog, no more than four dogs per site, no walking more than two at a time. Dogs must be on a leash or run at all times and MAKE SURE YOU CLEAN UP AFTER THEM!!

There will be a new “Buddy” system at the beach. Children twelve and over will be aloud to swim without an adult as long as they have a “Buddy” that is also over twelve.

Speed bumps will be put back up for new the new season. Some people have too heavy a foot. There are too many children in the area to not go the posted speed limits.

DO NOT USE THE HANDICAP PARKING SPOT AT THE RAMP IF YOU ARE NOT HANDICAPPED. You will be turned into the Sheriff’s Department if caught!

We will start the rest of the roof as soon as the weather cools off.

Next dinner will be September 16, 2010 at 6:30. It will be pot-luck. Please bring you favorite dish to share and join us for the meeting.

Grounds will be closing on October 31, 2010. Please make sure your site is cleaned and prepared for winter.

Family fun day is July 24, 2010 at 8:00 am.  There will be a breakfast of eggs, toast, bacon, home fries and sausage biscuits for $5.00 per person – funds to go to the roof project.  Then, at 11:30 a cookout and games for the family, lots of fun!  Games for kids of ALL ages.

Please remember there is NO SMOKING on the beach or the Lodge area and take care of your trash.  If your children dig holes in the sand, please fill them in before you leave.

Also, you Mommys and Daddys of diaper age little ones; DO NOT put the diapers in the porta pottys.  Either bring bags for them and take them with you or put them in the dumpster on your way out.

Thank you for helping to keep our beach and the rest rooms clean.

We are trying very hard to pay the roof loan off, so if you can spare a dollar or so on family day, please drop it in the jar!  Thank you!

Directors meet the first Wednesday of the month and the regular members with a dinner, either pot luck or menu, the third Thursday – both start at 6:30.

Camping monies and dues are both due by May 1, 2011.

If you do not pay camper storage, please remove your camper no later than October 31, 2010.
